Marie E. (Brown) Walker, 88, of Jefferson Township passed away Friday at her home.

Born May 24, 1923, in Indianola, she was the daughter of Clarence E. Brown and Pearl Matthews Brown.

Marie retired in 1988 from the South Butler County School District, where she was a secretary for 14 years.

She was a member and the first woman elder of the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church. There she was a member of the Berean Sunday School Class, moderator of the Presbyterian Women, a member of the church choir, and the clerk of session. She also was a member of the Saxonburg Golden Agers.

She enjoyed working with flowers, gardening and being with her grandsons.

Surviving are her daughter, Charlene (James) Taylor of Butler; a son, Bruce (Ruth Ann) Walker of Butler; two grandsons, Zachary and Austin; a step-grandson, James (Jill) Taylor Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Madeline Taylor; and a sister, Arla M. Bertram of Lower Burrell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Walker, who died Nov. 25, 1970; her parents; a sister, Dolores Wiles, and a brother, Clarence Brown.

<B>WALKER</B> — Friends of Marie E. (Brown) Walker, who died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church with Revs. James Steiner and Jean Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made to the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church Presbyterian Women.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
