JOBLESS RATE
Unemployment rates in the nine-county region remained low in December, according to the state Department of Labor. Butler and four other regional counties show unemployment rate declines in December of one-tenth of a percentage point. The other four counties' rates remained the same. Butler County registered the lowest jobless rate at 4.3 percent.
