Amtrak train derails in Vermont; no life-threatening injuries
ROXBURY, Vt. — Authorities say an Amtrak train headed from Vermont to Washington, D.C., has derailed in central Vermont. Amtrak says there doesn’t appear to be any life-threatening injuries.
Amtrak says the Vermonter train derailed this morning near Roxbury, about 20 miles southwest of Montpelier. It says the train reportedly struck a rock slide on the tracks.
Vermont State Police and local fire and rescue agencies are responding. Numerous emergency vehicles are at the scene.
