Police seek witnesses of assault outside bar over weekend
BUTLER TWP — Police are searching for witnesses of a weekend assault outside the Belmont II bar at the Bon Aire shopping plaza.
Three people, who police did not identify, were hurt in the altercation about 1:55 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot. One of the alleged victims, a 48-year-old Butler area man, was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital with a head injury.
The extent of his injuries were not known. He was listed in stable condition this morning at Allegheny General Hospital, Butler Township police said.
The other two suspected victims — a 41-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both from the Butler area — suffered minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.
Police said they are looking for two white men, believed to be in their 20s, in connection with the alleged assault. One of the men was wearing cowboy boots and a gray shirt.
Authorities could not immediately say what led to the altercation. However, police said the two injured men were apparently the intended targets. All three victims had been in the bar.
Investigators today said they have spoken to the younger man and the injured woman. Police are reviewing surveillance video.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
