Two earn Distinguished Service Awards
Two shocked but deserving residents were notified on Friday that they will receive the Butler County Distinguished Service Award at a May 1 dinner at the Butler Country Club.
The winner of the senior award is Audray Muscatello Yost, who was nominated by Lisa Nicholas Konesni.
Yost has served on the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation board of directors since 2004 and is the current president. She started the Dangerous Stranger program in the Butler School District's elementary buildings, on which she spent more than 500 volunteer hours.
The Junior Distinguished Service Award winner is Jordan Grady, who spends hundreds of hours engaged in volunteer work in addition to his employment as project coordinator at Alliance for Nonprofit Resources.
Grady, 24, was nominated by Kenny Bonus.
Grady is the vice president of the Butler AM Rotary as well as the chairman of the Rotary's membership committee.
He is active in the county Chamber of Commerce, the county Young Professionals and the county Youth Leadership groups.
