Virginia Ann “Ginny” “Tommie” Buchanan Houston

Virginia Ann “Ginny” “Tommie” Buchanan Houston, 79, of Grove City went to be with her Lord and savior on Monday.

She was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Detroit, Mich., and was the daughter of the late Kenneth Buchanan and Virginia (Slonka) Buchanan Bovard; and stepfather, David Bovard.

She was a faithful member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Harrisville.

Virginia worked as a computer center operator at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management/USIS and retired after 23 years.

In addition to spending time with her family and church family, she enjoyed baking, gardening and home decorating.

She is survived by three daughters, Lacy Houston, Lisa Theodorson and Lori (Chris) Saloom; and one son, Larry (Michelle) Houston. God blessed her with five grandchildren, Ashley (Adam) Taylor, Ryan (Stephanie) Saloom, Megan Theodorson, Nicole (Phil) Risch and Shane Houston; and three great-grandchildren, Owen Taylor, Carly Taylor and Alexander Saloom. Virginia is also survived by two sisters, Jean Buchanan and Linda (William) Cypher.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Lawrence E. “Skip” Houston; and her brother, Robert (Deverah) Buchanan.

HOUSTON — A celebration of life for the friends and family of Virginia Ann Houston, who died Monday, March 26, 2018, will be held later.Arrangements are being completed by Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kindred Hospice or Orchard Manor, Inc.
