PORTERSVILLE - The Northwest Pennsylvania Steam Engine and Old Equipment Association will host its 30th annual Spring Gas-up

Saturday and Sunday

at the Portersville Show Grounds.

Daily activities will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. A nondenominational church service will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Featured at this show will be old gas engines of all types and sizes in operation, oil field equipment, antique farm tractors and equipment, crafts and flea market, and unique collections and displays.

The Western Pennsylvania Antique Tractor Pullers Association will host a pulling contest on Saturday. Other activities include train rides for children and adults, and parades of antique tractors each afternoon, weather permitting.

Food will be available. Admission is $2 for those ages 12 and older and free for those younger than 12. There is free parking.

NEW KENSINGTON - The Alle-Kiski Chapter of SPEBSQSA barbershop singers present the 49th annual Parade of Harmony at 8 p.m. Saturday in Valley High School's auditorium.Featured performances will come from Live Wire, a Sweet Adeline quartet from Poland, Ohio; Sage, senior quartet champions from Severna Park, Md.; and the Alle-Kiski Showtime Chorus performing barbershop music.Tickets are available for $10. Laurel Ballet Performing Company will present "Swan Lake" on Saturday at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg.Performance times are 2 and 7 p.m.Dmitri Kulev, one of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's principal dancers, will be dancing the role of the Prince.Kulev most recently danced opposite the lead role in "Madame Butterfly" in April and played the lead role in "Dracula" in October.Tickets range from $10 to $20. PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Pops will be celebrating principal conductor Marvin Hamlisch's birthday with performances June 2 to 5 at Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Ave."They're Playing My Song" will include Hamlisch's greatest hits and the music that inspired him.Participating will be Lucie Arnaz and Robert Klein, the original stars of the Broadway musical "They're Playing Our Song."Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. June 2, at 8 p.m. June 3 and 4, and at 2:30 p.m. June 5.Tickets range from $17.50 to $62.50. PITTSBURGH - Young visitors to the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday can take the HealthAmerica FitKidz Challenge.Designed to encourage children to make healthy choices about exercise, nutrition and general well-being, the challenge includes an obstacle course with a balance beam, pogo ball and foam stilts.Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens age 60 and older and children ages 2 to 13, and free for children younger than 2.
