Robbery suspect is former employee

SLIPPERY ROCK — One of the two men arrested for the robbery of the Subway store on Main Street is a former employee.

Terrence James Mack, 24, of Slippery Rock is charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, disorderly conduct, prohibited act (possession of a controlled substance), robbery — inflict serious bodily injury, possession of instrument of crime with intent and conspiracy to commit robbery — inflict serious bodily injury.

Mack allegedly demanded the shop’s money box while wearing a mask and having the handle of a hammer sticking out of his coat pocket.

According to the affidavit, store employees recognized Mack’s voice before he fled with nearly $300.

Borough police subsequently apprehended Mack and the driver, Robert Leroy Coburn, 32, also of Slippery Rock.

Coburn was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery — inflict serious bodily injury, conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking, conspiracy to commit simple assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct and conspiracy to possess an instrument of crime with intent.

Mack is jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $50,000 cash surety bond. Coburn is jailed in lieu of $5,000 bond.
