CENTER TWP — A head-on collision Friday morning on Route 8 and Mahood Road left two people injured and both vehicles badly damaged.

State police are investigating but an accident report was not immediately available. The investigating trooper did not return a telephone call.

The vehicles, a Jeep Liberty and a Ford F-250 pickup truck, were apparently traveling in opposite directions on Route 8 in Center Township about 8 a.m. when they crashed.

The driver and passenger in the Jeep were taken by Butler Ambulance Service to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries, said Nathan Wulff, chief of the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department.

Both vehicles had to be towed.
