Woman taken to hospital after Route 308 crash
A 66-year-old West Sunbury woman was injured about 3:30 p.m. Monday when she lost control of her car and crashed into a large rock off Route 308 in Center Township.
Unionville volunteer firefighters had to use hydraulic tools to remove the driver's door and get the woman out. The extent of her injuries was not immediately known, but they were not believed to be life- threatening.
State police said it appeared the woman was traveling south, possibly at a high rate of speed, when her car crossed over the northbound lane and went off the road about one-half mile north of Route 8.
Emergency crews said the woman would be taken by Butler Ambulance Service to Butler Memorial Hospital.
