The restaurant reopened Wednesday morning, said an employee, who did not want to be identified. A restoration crew was there and boarded up the damage at the business.

A suspected drunken driver — just a day after celebrating her 21st birthday — suffered only a minor cut when she crashed her car into the front of Jimmy Wan's restaurant in Cranberry Township late Tuesday, authorities said.

The building on Route 228, however, sustained extensive damage in the wreck about 11:45 p.m., according to Cranberry Township police. The restaurant had closed less than two hours earlier.

“It's fortunate that it wasn't open,” Cranberry Police Chief Kevin Meyer said Wednesday.

Police did not release the name of the driver, who has a Florida driver's license, but she apparently has an address in Conway, Beaver County, said Cranberry Police Chief Kevin Meyer.

The crash remains under investigation, but police believe the woman had just ordered food at Cenci's Pizzeria when she wrecked her Cadillac CTS at Jimmy's Wan's next door.

It was not immediately clear what caused her to lose control of the car, but she was later taken to UPMC Passavant hospital for a blood draw. She was alone in the vehicle.

Driving under the influence charges are pending lab results, police said. The woman, who turned 21 on Monday, was later released to an unknown person.
