Frances M. Uram

Frances M. Uram, 89, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness and contracting COVID-19.

Born Nov. 29, 1931, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Anna (Kovacik) Hortert.

She was a homemaker, and previously a bookkeeper for various Butler businesses.

Frances took pleasure in crocheting beautiful heirloom doilies, painting, baking and had great fun with her bingo friends. She had a wonderful companionship with her hair stylist, Kris.

She was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church.

She also was a former member of several ladies’ bowling leagues, as well as a member of the Red Hat Society.

Surviving are three daughters, Marcia (Larry) Brown of Butler, Barbara (David) Wright of Florida, and Linda Souzer of Butler.

She loved her six grandchildren, Steven, Anji, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Jeromi and Derek; and eight great-grandchildren.

Frances is also survived by her brother, Donald (Helen) Hortert; and three sisters, Dorothy Beblo, Patricia Goepfert and Julia Lacuesta.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert F. Uram; and four brothers, Joseph, Roland, James and William.

URAM — Due to COVID-19 concerns, there will be no visitation for Frances M. Uram, who died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021.

Arrangements are being completed by Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
