Wednesday — A 17-year-old boy, who police did not identify, was caught with suspected marijuana and smoking pipes at his home in the 300 block of North Broad Street. Police cited the boy for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Monday — An unknown driver got stuck in a ditch between lots at Instron at 900 Liberty St., and left ruts in the yard area in a failed bid to get out of the predicament.Later, someone in an unidentified pickup truck got there and pulled out the car, described as a gold Toyota Corolla. The suspects, a man and woman, both drove away and did not report the damage-causing accident.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

11:50 a.m. Thursday — A young girl was hurt when a pickup truck driven by her mother, Jennifer M. Hoffman, 34, of Butler, struck a tree along Queen Junction Road just west of Thompsontown Road in Clay Township. Hoffman's daughter, Charley R. Hoffman, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Police said Hoffman was cited for driving too fast for conditions.8:54 p.m. Wednesday — Alcohol is suspected in a crash that happened when Anthony L. Kormick, 23, of Butler lost control of his car, striking an embankment and rolling onto its roof on Glenwood Way just west of Spring Run Road in Center Township. Police said Kormick fled the scene but was later found at a friend's house in Butler.According to a police report, DUI charges against Kormick are pending.Wednesday — A convicted sex offender is accused of failing to register employment and vehicle information with police as required under the state's version of Megan's Law.Jeffrey S. Pelkofer Jr., 37, of Muddy Creek Township was arrested after police learned that he was working a second job as a volunteer with the Portersville VFD, according to court documents.Police said when he last registered with authorities he listed his only employment at a car dealership in Allison Park, Allegheny County.Additionally, police discovered that the defendant had been driving a pickup truck and also owned a car; however, the only vehicle he registered with police was a sport utility vehicle, documents said.Pelkofer was arraigned on felony charges of failure to comply with registration of sexual offenders requirements, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.A Tier 3 high-risk sex offender, Pelkofer was convicted in 2010 of statutory sexual assault in Allegheny County. He was sentenced to five years' probation.Wednesday — A convict not allowed to have a gun was charged after a search of his house in Fairview Township last week turned up a .22-caliber revolver.The finding came Jan. 23 when Butler County probation officers made a spot check at 56-year-old Terry V. Ulitsky's home on Redwood Road. In addition to the revolver, the probation officers allegedly found a bag containing suspected marijuana.According to court documents, Ulitsky has “multiple convictions” in Pennsylvania and Virginia that prohibit him from possessing a gun.He was placed in the Butler County Prison for violating his probation. Police subsequently charged him with illegal possession of a firearm, a felony, and possession of a small amount of marijuana, a misdemeanor.11:14 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Michael J. McFadden, 20, of Butler crashed into a utility pole along State Street in West Sunbury. Police said McFadden fled the scene and was cited for driving too fast for conditions.11:26 a.m. Saturday — An SUV driven by Dustin R. Sargo, 26, of Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.Jan. 24 — Ryan T. Grame, 19, of Center Township was charged with drunken and drugged driving and more than 10 traffic tickets stemming from a hit-and-run crash in Summit Township earlier this month.Police said Grame was driving his grandmother's car and crashed into a snow -covered embankment in the parking lot of Yaracs Auction on Herman Road near Stutz Road. He and five passengers, all youths, walked away from the crash. Troopers were called and found them walking on Herman Road toward Butler.According to court documents, Grame smelled of alcohol and he admitted to drinking that night, police said. Additionally, troopers found him carrying a pill bottle that had no label on it.The teen acknowledged the bottle contained antiseizure pills, which he had purchased “off some guy” and had taken, documents said.Grame was arrested and driven to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries in the crash and for a blood test. Toxicology reports later showed he had alcohol and drugs in his system, documents said.He is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, DUI by a minor, possession of a controlled substance and reckless endangerment, all misdemeanors.Police also cited him for driving without a license, a separate license violation, driving with a learner's permit while unaccompanied by a valid driver over 21 years old, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, disregarding traffic lanes and driving too fast for conditions.Grame also was ticketed for careless driving, reckless driving, failing to stop or render aid after an accident, hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, driving with an open container of alcohol and a seat belt violation.9:47 a.m. Jan. 23 — A car driven by Sara A. Yousko, 21, of Renfrew slammed into an embankment, rolled over at least two times and landed on its wheels on Interstate 79 just south of Dickey Road in Worth Township. Police said Yousko was cited for driving too fast for conditions.8:07 a.m. Jan. 23 — Patrick A. Latouche, 52, of Pittsburgh lost control of his car and slid into an embankment. Police said Latouche was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Jan. 22 — Police obtained a felony arrest warrant for Joel A. Fobes, 30, of Butler on charges he stole several thousand dollars from Citizens Bank branches in Center and Butler townships using three fraudulent checks.Fobes allegedly cashed the phony checks that he had first deposited between Oct. 31 and Nov. 4, according to court documents. Police said the defendant made off with $6,302.70. He is charged with theft by deception.7:26 p.m. Jan. 20 — Eric R. Slupe, 29, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a three-vehicle wreck in Winfield Township. Two people were hurt in the crash.Police said Slupe's car struck the back end of another car on Route 356 at Winfield Road. The collision forced the other car, driven by Norman E. Connors, 41, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, into an SUV.Connors and Debbie Snow, 53, of Natrona Heights, a passenger in the SUV driven by Amy L. Snow, 41, of Tarentum, Allegheny County, suffered unknown injuries; both were wearing a seat belts.Both cars had to be towed from the scene.Jan. 11 — An unknown burglar cut off a lock and stole a mini bike, weed-eater, chain saw and two electric compressors from a shed on Robinson Lane in Worth Township. The break-in happened between Oct. 1 and Jan. 11.
