Jill Laux ran a time of 20 minutes, 38 seconds to place 25th at the PIAA Class AA girls cross country championships Saturday to lead Slippery Rock to a fifth-place finish.

The Rockets finished with 206 points, just one point behind fourth place Tulpehocken.

Calley Bridges placed 31st and Brittany Lyons 47th for Slippery Rock, which was coming off its first district championship a week before.

The Knoch boys placed 12th in the Class AAA race.

Kyle Reeping was 34th with a time of 17:04 and Artie Black 37th with a time of 17:05.

The Seneca Valley girls were 17th in the Class AAA girls race.

Megan Powell placed 24th for the Raiders.

Individually, Freeport runner Brendan Reilly placed eighth in the Class AA boys race, coming in at 16:49.

Grove City's Zach Hoagland was 14th.
