Chicora resident, postal carrier receives 'Hero Award'
Brenda Lumley was in the right place at the right time.
“If I hadn’t had been there when he was, he might have laid there for awhile,” Lumley said.
The Chicora resident received the Postmaster General Hero Award, which is given to United States Postal Service employees who go above and beyond the call of duty and protect human life and property, after she assisted a man who crashed into a tree June 20 along her rural route.
