Elizabeth A. Vero
Elizabeth A. Vero, 96, of Butler passed away Saturday in Sunflower Way at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on May 28, 1918, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Charles Gingo and Josephine Viglione Gingo.
Elizabeth worked as a beautician at the Nixon Hotel Beauty Salon for 12 years and also was self-employed along with her late husband, Samuel, owning and operating Vero's Bar in Butler from 1948 until 1995.
She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and the Sodality of St. Paul's. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, and gardening, and mostly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her five children, Mary Turner of New Castle, Jo Beth Ward of Butler, Denise M. (David) Nebel of Butler, Teresa Santino of Ashland, Ohio, and Fred A. (Kimberly) Vero of Butler; her 15 grandchildren, Kristen Turner, Terry Turner, Michael Ward, Sam Ward, Elizabeth Ward, Tom Ward, Jessica Ayer, Timothy Nebel, Daniel Nebel, Sara Malcolm, Samara Santino, David Santino, Adam Santino, Lauren Vero and Ryan Vero; and her two great-grandchildren, Lila Malcolm and Rhett Malcolm.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Vero, who she married on June 14, 1948, and who died on Dec. 27, 1983; her brother, Romeo Gingo; and her three sisters, Mary Lorenzini, Helen Phillips and Stella Gingo.

Cunningham St., Butler.The St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, to recite the rosary.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
