UPDATE: After being found, missing Buffalo Township man dies in hospital

Multiple first-responder departments were searching for Dennis Fester. Fester went missing from 115 Clubhouse Drive in Buffalo Township on Tuesday, but was found later Tuesday evening.

A Buffalo Township man died early Wednesday morning of hypothermia after he went missing on Tuesday.

Police began searching for Dennis Fester, 74, on Tuesday afternoon, according to reports and announcements from the police scanner, after he may have wandered off from the 100 block of Clubhouse Drive in Sarver.

Reports from the police scanner noted that Fester had a form of dementia. Buffalo Township police confirmed that Fester was found late Tuesday. Police noted that he was transferred to Allegheny County.

According to the Allegheny Office of the Medical Examiner, Fester died on Friday at 12:08 a.m. at the Allegheny General Hospital. They determined his cause of death was hypothermia and the manner of death was ruled an accident.
