Couples planning to marry during the Thanksgiving holiday should apply for their marriage licenses now, according to Judy Moser, Butler County Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans' Court.

State law requires a minimum three-day waiting period for a license. The last day to apply for a marriage license in time for a Thanksgiving weekend ceremony will be Nov. 21.

All holiday licenses must be picked up no later than 4 p.m. Nov. 26. The government center will be closed Nov. 27 and 28.

The Marriage License Bureau is located in the Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans' Court Office, Level L, of the Butler County Government Center, 124 W. Diamond St. For more information about application requirements, call 724-284-5379 or visit www.co.butler.pa.us. and use Quick Links/marriage.

MARS — Mars Senior Center, Penn-Mar Plaza, is looking for people interested in a beginner line dancing class. The class will start in early December and will meet based on the interest of the participants.For more information, call Bob at 724-625-4466.

SMETHPORT — Local Rotary Clubs are accepting applications for the Rotary International Youth Summer Exchange Program. The program includes more than 25 countries.Eligible students should be of good character, have above-average academic ability, be between 15 and 18 and be able to travel on their own to complete the exchange. Foreign language proficiency is not required.The application deadline is April 15.
