Couples planning to marry during the Thanksgiving holiday should apply for their marriage licenses now, according to Judy Moser, Butler County Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans' Court.

State law requires a minimum three-day waiting period for a license. The last day to apply for a marriage license in time for a Thanksgiving weekend ceremony will be Nov. 21.

All holiday licenses must be picked up no later than 4 p.m. Nov. 26. The government center will be closed Nov. 27 and 28.

SMETHPORT — Local Rotary Clubs are accepting applications for the Rotary International Youth Summer Exchange Program. The program includes more than 25 countries.Eligible students should be of good character, have above-average academic ability, be between 15 and 18 and be able to travel on their own to complete the exchange.
