Jessie Jacobs

Jessie Marie Jacobs, 78, of Harrisville passed away Sunday at her home.

Born Oct. 21, 1936, in Irwin Township, Venango County, she was the daughter of the late Howard Carey Gadsby and Sara Elizabeth Davis Gadsby.

Jessie attended Eaken School and graduated from Sandy Lake High School. She also attended Edinboro University, receiving a bachelor of science degree in education.

Jessie married Ronald Eugene “Gene” Morrison Sept. 15, 1961, and he passed away in 1979. She married Lehn L. Jacobs Nov. 30, 1985, and he passed away in 1991.

Jessie ran her own day care for eight years and worked for the Franklin Area Head Start Program. Then after graduating from Edinboro, she worked as the educational coordinator for Day Care.

After retirement, Jessie loved to spend time with her family. She spent time cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events, going on vacations with her family, doing crafts with her daughters, and going on day trips with her sisters and cousins. She also enjoyed grabbing lunch or supper out with family and friends.

Jessie is survived by her daughters, Teresa Vinca and her husband, Keith, of Harrisville, and Denise Stewart and her husband, Steve, of Raleigh, N.C.; her grandchildren, Dr. and Mrs. Ryan (Heather) McKinnis of Streetsboro, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew (Lindsay) Vinca of Transfer, Sara E. Vinca of Harrisville, and Cory J. Stewart and Collin M. Stewart of North Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Owen, Brooklynn and Wyatt McKinnis and Micah Vinca; her sisters, Peggy Greggs of Grove City, Nancy Montgomery and her husband, Woody, of Ohio, Sally Bliss and her husband, Paul, of Stoneboro, and Carrie Shoup and her husband, Thomas, of Polk; and her sister-in-law, Pat Gadsby of Grove City.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Jessie was proceeded in death by her brother, David Gadsby, and her brother-in-law, James Greggs.

Jacobs — The family of Jessie Marie Jacobs, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville.Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter Puliatti from the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Harrisville officiating.
