POLICE REPORTS

Thursday — Dakota R. Shay, 21, and Elijah J. Claypoole, 21, both of Butler were charged with trying to take seven WWE action figures, valued at $69.14, in October from the Walmart at Butler Commons.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. Oct. 21.

Shay fled the store, but he was captured, according to a police report.

Both defendants are charged with summary retail theft. Additionally, Shay is charged with disorderly conduct, also a summary.

Wednesday — Taylor M. Lewis, 20, of Butler was charged in connection with a shoplifting incident last month at the Butler Commons' Walmart.

Police said she allegedly took 29 items Nov. 23. The merchandise was valued at $245.60. Lewis is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.

10:53 a.m. Dec. 2 — Patrick L. Byers, 31, of Butler was allegedly caught with marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop on Fairground Hill Road.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving a vehicle with suspended registration, failing to surrender license plates and driving a vehicle without insurance.

1:40 p.m. Nov. 29 — Police said Amanda E. Ristity, 38, of Butler was found with suspected heroin and cocaine following a traffic crash at the Butler Crossing shopping plaza on New Castle Road.

She is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

5:39 p.m. Tuesday — Joshua J. Hindman, 34, of Clintonville, Venango County, was allegedly caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop on Center Street.He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving a vehicle with expired registration and driving with a burned out headlight.

Thursday — Echo L. Graff, 27, of Cabot was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop around 1:50 a.m. Nov. 7 at New Castle Road and Malwood Drive in Butler Township.She also was allegedly found with suspected marijuana and other contraband.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, she is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and disregarding traffic lanes.2:34 a.m. Wednesday — Todd A. Towsey, 55, of Slippery Rock was arrested after he allegedly pushed a 78-year-old woman during an incident on Miller Road in Slippery Rock Township.The victim, who suffered a shoulder injury, was taken to an unspecified hospital.Police said they found Towsey with marijuana that he was trying to hide when troopers arrived.He was arraigned on charges of simple assault, harassment and possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He is free on nonmonetary bond.Wednesday — Police reported they are investigating the theft of a furnace and hot water tank last month from a trailer during a burglary at the Brady Hills Mobile Home Park on Bluebell Lane in Brady Township.The break-in and theft occurred between Nov. 10 and 13. The stolen property is valued at about $700.Wednesday — Dustin E. Speicher, 19, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance stemming from a traffic incident around 1:20 a.m. Oct. 26 in the area of Muddy Creek Drive and Euclid Road in Muddy Creek Township.1:49 a.m. Tuesday — A 49-year-old Slippery Rock woman was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Mercer Street and American Avenue in Butler.Charges are pending lab tests.Tuesday — Police charged Adam M. Spinner, 30, of Cabot with a third offense of driving under suspension due to prior DUI convictions following a traffic stop around 7:45 p.m. Nov. 29 on Route 528 in Franklin Township.He also is charged with driving without a license, driving with an obscured license plate and failing to notify authorities of a change of address.Dec. 1 — Christopher T. Chase, 32, of Prospect was arrested after a search at the Butler County Prison allegedly turned up a Suboxone strip in his wallet.He had been taken to the prison after police picked him up on a warrant upon responding to his Douglas Street home for a nonviolent domestic dispute.Chase was arraigned on a felony charge of bringing a controlled substance into the prison and a summary charge of failing to notify authorities of a change of address. His bond was set at $5,000.Nov. 21 — An unknown thief forged a $2,000 check belonging to a 59-year-old Connoquenessing Township woman.
