Martha Jane Grossi

Martha Jane Grossi, 88, of Butler, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born Dec. 17, 1932, in Claytonia, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Charlotte E. Crouch Wolford.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Martha was a registered nurse. During her career, she was employed at Butler Memorial Hospital, the office of Dr. William Fitzsimmons, Butler Veterans Administration Hospital, and she retired from Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She volunteered at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Martha is survived by three children, Steven J. Grossi and his wife, Rose, of Butler, Kathleen Nevel and her husband, Larry, of Butler, and Carol McPherson of Butler; one sister, Linda Gallagher and her husband, Edward, of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Grossi, who passed away Aug. 18, 2007; one brother, Arthur Wolford; and one great-granddaughter, Lily Rose Grossi.

The Grossi family thanks the Concordia staff and Martha's home caregivers for their exceptional care.

GROSSI — There was no public visitation for Martha Jane Grossi, who died Sunday, June 6, 2021.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, June 10, 2021, at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with the Rev. Dan Waruszewski officiating.

Burial took place in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Martha J. Grossi to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Staff Appreciation Fund, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
