Samuel J. Capicotto Jr.
Samuel J. Capicotto Jr., 84, of Butler, our biggest inspiration, was called home to the Lord Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 1, 1932, in Butler, he was a son of the late Samuel Capicotto Sr. and Mary (Fratto) Capicotto.
He retired from the melt shop at Butler Armco in 1991, following 40 years of service. He was a co-founder, along with his wife, Gloria, of Capco Paper Co. and Capicotto Concessions, where he especially enjoyed his stand at Lernerville Speedway.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. He was also a former member of Syria Shriners Showmans Association, the William Miller Lodge 769 F&AM and the Butler Shrine Caravan 14. He was also a member of the Butler Elks 170.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria J. Reinhold Capicotto, whom he married Oct. 25, 1952; four daughters, Susan J. (James) Frawley, Denise Slagel, Darlene (Richard) Trimbur and Maria (James) Marburger, all of Butler; six grandchildren, Chad Ruggles, Megan Bosko, Tyler Trimbur, Cory Trimbur, Jessica and Ashley Ikenberg; and a great-granddaughter, Harper Grace.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Capicotto; and two sisters.
CAPICOTTO — Friends of Samuel J. Capicotto, who died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler. The Rev.
