JACKSON TWP - Zehner School Road is closed between Route 19 and Lindsay Road after a delivery truck caught fire Thursday.

Jackson Township Police Sgt. Tim Amhrein said the truck was heading south on Route 19 just before 4 p.m. when the driver noticed smoke and flames coming from a wheel on the passenger side of the vehicle, and turned right onto Zehner School Road.

Damage was mostly visible on the passenger side of the trailer closest to the truck, a Freightliner. When a tow truck pulled the truck away from the scene separately from the trailer, tires on the rear passenger side appeared to have deformed in the conflagration.

The driver said the trailer contained only pallets and dollies.
