Leech waives hearing due to mental health

Edwin Leech, 43, waived his hearing for mental health reasons after being charged with making terroristic threats at Victory Family Church on Route 19 on Aug. 21.

Leech, 43, of Zelienople waived a hearing Friday morning for mental health reasons after being charged with making terroristic threats at Victory Family Church on Route 19.Leech was at a 6 a.m. prayer meeting Aug. 21 at the church when he allegedly made a scene. Leech allegedly talked about mass shootings and said he had mental health problems.District Judge David Kovach supported Leech's decision to waive. Leech's bond has been increased from $50,000 to $100,000. Leech can either pay the bond or check himself into a mental health facility for inpatient treatment. He stays in the Butler County Prison in the meantime.
