Robert B. Fay Jr.

Robert B. Fay Jr., 53, of Mars passed away Wednesday.

He was born Sept. 15, 1962, in Pittsburgh to Robert B. Fay Sr. and Celine Braun Fay. He graduated from Mercersburg Academy in 1981 and Lehigh University in 1985.

He joined his father and brothers in the family business, Joseph B. Fay Company.

Bob was a member of the Construction Association of Western PA, the Master Builders Association and a trustee for the Operating Engineer Pension Plan. He was an avid hunter and a member of the Safari Club International.

He loved being with family and friends and cared deeply for his nieces and nephews. He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins and was a master tailgater. He was very talented and meticulous in everything he did. He had an extraordinary eye for art.

He is survived by his father, Robert B. Fay Sr. of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Joseph B. Fay and his wife, Linda, of San Antonio, Texas, and Shawn M. Fay Sr. and his wife, Heidi, of Jensen Beach, Fla.; and four sisters, Kathy Gilchrist and her husband, Vic, of Roanoke, Va., Patty Brown and her husband, Rob, of Slippery Rock, Laura Ziemba and her husband, Michael, of Mebane, N.C., and Kelly Hendricks and her husband, Jeremy, of Conifer, Colo.

Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Joe, Celena, Shawn Michael, Ryan, Kate, Gray, Cori, Casey, Toby, Luke, Tristen, Zachary and Laird.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his nephew Breandan.

FAY — Family of Robert B. Fay Jr., who died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, will receive friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis of Butler presiding.Memorial contributions may be given to Operation Once-In-Lifetime, P.O. Box 797052 Dallas, TX www.operationonceinalifetime.com, a charity close to the heart of his nephew Breandan.
