2:08 a.m. Wednesday — Anthony F. Cirino Jr., 43, of Falconer, N.Y., was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 8 near the Greater Butler Mart. Police said they stopped Cirino after he was spotted throwing trash on the shopping center parking lot. In addition to DUI, he was cited for littering.Grove City PoliceTuesday — An unknown thief overnight stole a lawn mower, two shovels, garden hoe, gas-powered string trimmer and a roll of wire from a garage in the 500 block of North Center Street. The stolen property is worth an estimated $145.Monday — Police filed drug-related charges against Harrison Jake Muse, 23, of Hermitage, stemming from a traffic stop about 12:30 a.m. Saturday during a sobriety checkpoint. Police said Muse, a passenger in the car that was stopped, was found with a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana and a pipe with suspected marijuana residue.Muse is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday — Police filed drunken driving charges against Mark A. Smith, 22, of Butler stemming from a traffic stop about 3:20 a.m. July 27 at Protzman and Herman roads in Summit Township.Smith is charged with driving under the influence, speeding, disregarding traffic lanes and not using turn signals.9:47 p.m. Tuesday — A blue, 1983 Chevrolet truck struck a mailbox, road sign and tree in a hit-an-run crash on Route 38 just north of Valley Road in Concord Township. The driver took off into the woods after the wreck, leaving behind the truck owned by Ian K. Kerner of Karns City.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.July 20 — Larry W. Garvin, 60, of Butler Township was arrested after he allegedly assaulted Luanne Olszak about 9:30 p.m. July 17 during an altercation at her home on Milheim Drive in Center Township.Garvin is accused of picking up and throwing the woman onto a bed and then pushing her onto the floor and kicking her when she tried to leave the bedroom, according to court documents.The suspect, who is free on his own recognizance, was arraigned July 20 on charges of simple assault and harassment. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 6.

Monday — A Nextar global positioning system unit was taken from an unlocked vehicle at a home on Lawsonham Road in Madison Township. The theft occurred Sunday or Monday.

Friday — Daniel A. McVay, 39, of Emlenton was arrested on charges he burglarized a camp in Rockland Township last month. The camp on Rocky Point Lane was broken into July 26. Police said McVay was arraigned on burglary charges, and placed in the Venango County Jail on $25,000 bail.

Monday — Police filed theft and access device fraud charges against Linnea A. Leighty, 29, of Grove City, accusing her of taking another Grove City woman's debit card and using it three times at different stores to purchase $114.76 worth of items. The alleged crimes occurred between July 21 and 25.Aug. 4 — Six tires mounted on rims were stolen from Surrena Used Car Garage on Spring Road in Springfield Township. The theft happened Aug. 3 or Aug. 4

8 a.m. Tuesday — Two people were hurt when a sport utility vehicle and pickup truck collided in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The crash happened when the SUV driven by Cody W. Domhoff, 21, struck the pickup driven by Jerome K. Hasson, 73, both of New Castle.Domhoff, who was not wearing a seat belt, and Hasson, who was wearing a seat belt, were taken to Jameson Hospital in New Castle with minor injuries. Police said Domhoff was cited for careless driving.Tuesday — Large amounts of copper pipe and wire and other items were stolen in a burglary at a home on Old Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The break-in happened between March 21 and Tuesday,Monday — A small box of aluminum scrap was stolen from Fair Metal Fabricating on Woodwind Road in Plain Grove Township. The theft happened between Friday and Monday.
