Don Weisenfluh
Don Weisenfluh, 88, of Sunnyvale, Calif., died June 3, 2020.
He was born Feb. 25, 1932, in New Castle. He was the son of the late Norman N Weisenfluh and Anna Shellenberger.
Don graduated from Grove City College with a bachelor of science degree in 1953, and received a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1962.
He met his wife Barbara when she was a senior at Penn State and she was the love of his life. They married July 12, 1958, and slowly worked their way west from Pennsylvania to California, with stops in Indiana and Kansas along the way.
Prior to his retirement, Don was employed at home and office furnishing corporations in management roles. He was a member of Who's Who in the West 1976 and 1977. Don was an intelligent man who enjoyed reading and traveling.
He and Barbara spent most of their California life in Orange County. They enjoyed spending their retirement years collecting gems and minerals and attending trade shows in Tucson every year, watching college football (especially with their rival alma maters), and having their grandchildren visit. Their home was always filled with one or two of their favorite dogs, golden retrievers.
They attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, Calif.
When Barbara fell ill, Don was a devoted caregiver for many years until her death in 2007. After her death, he moved closer to his children in Northern California.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Bickham Weisenfluh.
He is survived by his brother, John Weisenfluh; his children, Wendy (Shane) and Craig (Stacia); and four grandchildren.
