[naviga:h3]ADT donates $10K to Catholic Charities[/naviga:h3]

Security company ADT presented Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh with a donation of $10,000 on Monday at Catholic Charities’ Butler County Outreach Center on East Brady Street.

James Warnick, an ADT manager who resides in Butler County, applied for the community grant in the spring in response to Catholic Charities’ coronavirus-related work throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.

Catholic Charities works with people in need including no-contact delivery of basic necessities, virtual case management services to keep at-risk individuals at home, assistance and support for pregnant women and new parents, teletherapy for those in distress, and ongoing health care provided free to those without adequate insurance.

Susan Rauscher, executive director of Catholic Charities, said the grant was a welcome contribution toward agency programs and an encouragement to the agency’s team.

Boeing reported Tuesday that customers canceled orders for 60 of its grounded 737 Max jets in June, and the aircraft maker removed another 123 planes from its backlog because of doubts that the deals will be completed.

The slump in aircraft sales extends across the Atlantic. European rival Airbus reported no new orders in June.

Chicago-based Boeing, a leading U.S. exporter, was struggling before the pandemic hit because of the grounding of the Max —once its best-selling plane — after two deadly crashes. The coronavirus has compounded the company’s problems by causing a deep slump in air travel around the world.
