COVID-19 Update 1/13: BHS inpatient numbers continue drop
The Butler Health System has seen another reduction of inpatients at both Butler Memorial and Clarion hospitals.
According to Wednesday's report by BHS, Butler Memorial had 36 hospitalized COVID-19 patients, with nine of those being treated in the intensive care unit.
That is a decrease of six inpatients from Monday's report and one patient less in the intensive care unit; however Butler Memorial reported three COVID-19-related deaths during the same time.
Clarion Hospital also reported one death since Monday's report, but its 14 hospitalized COVID-19 inpatients is four less from the last report. Clarion is still treating four COVID-19 patients in the ICU.
At the state level, the recovery rate continues to increase gradually. Wednesday's report by the Department of Health showed an increase to 75%, a 1% bump from the day before.
On Wednesday, the report for Butler County showed the death of nine more residents and the addition of 92 positive test results to its totals.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the county has had 7,428 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 265 residents die due to the virus.
