John H. Setzenfand

John Setzenfand - OBIT - 6/17/14

John H. Setzenfand, 65, of Richland Township, Gibsonia, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wis.

Born in Bellevue on May 6, 1949, he was the son of Fran Stahl Setzenfand of Saxonburg and the late Howard Setzenfand.

John had been the plant operator at Anderson Asphalt, later Northern Industries, where he worked for 35 years. Most recently, he worked as the plant operator for T.J. Hopper Concrete in Gibsonia.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Mars VFW Post 7505.

John was an avid golfer.

Surviving are his wife, Annetta Staaf Setzenfand, who he married on Jan. 24, 1969; his three sons, John Setzanfand and his wife, Beth, and Jeff Setzenfand, both of Saxonburg, and Dale Niggel of Chicora; his three grandchildren, Nichole, Amber and Sarah; his mother, Fran Stahl Setzenfand of Saxonburg; his three sisters, Lynn Pickard and her husband, Steve, of Saxonburg, Chris Arthurs and her husband, Dale, of Cabot, and Margaret Nelson and her husband, Jim, of Saxonburg. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his aunt, Nancy Stahl.

Setzenfand — The friends of John H. Setzenfand, who passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, are invited to a celebration of John's life at the Mars VFW, 331 Mars-Valencia Road, Mars, at 4 p.m. Sunday.
