Versatile Bednar helps Mars hold off Indiana
David Bednar tossed a complete game with seven strikeouts and went 4-for-4 at the plate as the Mars baseball team held off Indiana 7-4 in Section 4-AAA action Wednesday.
Elsewhere:
• Josh Doody had two doubles and five RBI and Torin Smith added a double, triple and a two-run homer in Grove City's 10-0, victory over Meadville.
• Zach Koller drove in four runs and Mac Megahan three runs as Knoch used a 13-hit attack in a 13-0 win over East Allegheny.
• Taylor Smith was the winning pitcher and added three hits, including a double, three runs scored and two RBI as Union, which pounded out 16 hits, rolled past North Clarion 15-4 in five innings.
