Searches continue now and into this week for missing man

Authorities plan to ramp up efforts this week for a man who went missing Friday from an Interstate 80 bridge just outside Butler County.

A combination of state police, firefighters and others were out during the weekend searching for Colt Snyder, 20, of Dayton, Armstrong County. His vehicle was found abandoned on the bridge, which is in Richland Township, Clarion County.

“The searches are still ongoing,” said state trooper Joshua Bauer, who is based at the Clarion barracks.

Authorities said searches were limited over the weekend by weather and other constraints, but starting Monday there are plans to use further tactics, including the use of boats, dogs and helicopters.

Snyder is Caucasian, 6-feet-3 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds and has short brown hair and hazel eyes.

He last was seen wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, a brown coat, black and white shorts and black and white shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bauer at 814-226-1710.

This is an excerpt from a story that will appear in Monday's Butler Eagle.
