Milk truck crash stops Rt. 422 traffic

Firefighters redirected traffic away Thursday from an overturned milk truck on Route 422.

A milk truck fell on its side Thursday morning on Route 422, restricting traffic for about four hours.

According to Butler County dispatchers, the call for the crash came around 5:30 a.m., and state police responded.

Police continued to investigate the crash Thursday.

Prospect firefighters redirected traffic from a roadblock set up by the Portersville Muddycreek Volunteer Fire Department at the road's interchange with Route 528.Prospect Fire Chief Ken Wilson said the driver of the truck was not taken to the hospital, and the truck was uprighted by 8:50 a.m. The crash was cleared and traffic resumed on the road around 9:15 a.m.Eastbound traffic was unaffected by the crash and blockage, but traffic backup was increased by those who turned around at the interchange.
