Florence A. 'Flo' Parenti
Florence A. “Flo” Parenti of Slippery Rock passed away Tuesday at the Grove City Medical Center following a brief illness.
Flo was born on Aug. 12, 1923, in Hilliards, Washington Township, to the late Harry Hoover Turk and Maude Elizabeth Thompson.
She was married to Sylvester S. “Syl” Parenti on April 2, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1985.
Flo was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan, and she was a Methodist. She dearly loved and lived for her family.
She is survived by her four daughters, Joyce D. Parenti of Butler, Ruth E. Riddle of Duluth, Ga., Sonja B. Parenti of Grove City and JoAnn M. Parenti of Dallas, Texas; her son, William L. Parenti of Evans City; her sister, Edna Cemate of Butler; her five grandchildren, Jeff and Stephen Riddle, Cheryl Riddle Furman, Billy Parenti and Trisha Parenti; her seven great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Rachael, Lucas, Jack, Sarah, Camdton and Maria; and her four great-great-granddaughters.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Daryl S. Parenti; her grandson, Michael D. Riddle; her two sisters, Ruth and Beatrice; and her three brothers, Clair, William and Russell.
Parenti — The family of Florence A. “Flo” Parenti, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at theSmith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Pastor John Swindlehurst of Erie presiding.
