Anna J. Miller
Anna J. Kiester Miller, 86, formerly of Lake City, Erie County, died Friday at her home in Fairview, Erie County.
Born Jan. 29, 1921, in Kiester, Pa., she was a daughter of Henry B. and Vernetta Sutton Kiester.
She graduated from Butler High School in 1939 and was proud she never missed a day of school.
Mrs. Miller, who moved to the Girard area in the mid-1940s, lived in Lake City for years. She had worked at Rich's Frozen Foods for 20 years as a union steward and secretary and later as union president.
She was a member of the Girard Presbyterian Church and was instrumental in the Friends of the Gertrude Barber Center, where she had been president. She also had been president of the PTA in Lake City and loved sewing, flower gardening and crossword puzzles. Although she was proud of her accomplishments and helping other people, her greatest joy in life was her son, Tom Miller of Fairview, who survives.
She also is survived by two daughters, Melinda M. "Mindy" Gresh and her husband, Frank Jr., of Fairview and Eleanor L. Kennedy and her husband, James, of Knoxville, Tenn.; three other sons, Richard S. Miller and his wife, Sharon, of East Springfield, Erie County, Charles N. Miller and his wife, Jeanne, of Girard and Ralph W. Miller of Canton, Ga.; three sisters, Louise Baseler and her husband, Paul, of Grove City and Amelda Bennett and her husband, James, and Emmy Holtz and her husband, John, all of Harrisville; and two brothers, William Kiester and his wife, Marjorie, of Boyers and James Kiester of Sharon. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clayton D. Miller, who died in 2002; a son, Dale E. Miller, who died in 1994; a granddaughter, Stephanie A. Miller, who died in 1991, and three sisters, Margaret Love, Mary Ellen Daugherty and Elizabeth Covert.
<B>MILLER </B>— Friends of Anna J. Kiester Miller, who died Friday, April 6, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home</B>, 309 Main St. East, Girard. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Rimmer, pastor of the Bethel Presbyterian Church of Cranesville, officiating. Burial will be at the Girard Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the Gertrude Barber Center, 1126 Lake St., Girard, PA 16417
