F. Merle Campbell Jr.

F. Merle Campbell Jr., 83, and a resident of Harrisville since 1959, went to be with his Lord in his residence at 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

Known by his family and friends as “Merle,” he was born on Nov. 3, 1931, in Mercer to the late Francis Merle and Mary Jane Webster Campbell Sr.

Merle loved his Lord and Savior. He spent his life working for the Lord and Savior by serving others. Well done good and faithful servant.

Merle married Joanne Fryman on July 12, 1952, at her family home in Harrisville. They celebrated their life and love of God for 62 years.

Merle was a member of the Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Slippery Rock, for 58 years. He served as an elder in the church and he enjoyed singing in the choir.

He was a graduate of Grove City High School, Class of 1948. He retired in 1998 after 32 years of service as the manager of Harrisville True Value Hardware.

Merle enjoyed spending time with his family and he was an avid golfer. He liked golfing with his son Scott.

Merle is survived by his wife, Joanne at home; five children, Cindy Tuskan and husband, John, of Hermitage, Jay Campbell and Amy Ryder of Clintonville, Nancy Natili and her husband, George, of Slippery Rock, M. Scott Campbell and his wife, Robin, of Slippery Rock and Melanie Frampton and Mark Weidner of Harrisville; 15 grandchildren, Chris Gannon and his wife, Jill, Chelle Kroll and her husband, Eric, Jen Gilliland and her husband, Marty, Emily Sybert and her husband, Matt, Matthew Campbell and his wife, Cathy, Samuel Campbell, John Black and his wife, Blythe, Tiffany Sybert and her husband, Dan, Philip Frampton and his wife, Beth, Lydia Frampton, Mitchell Campbell, Chelsea Sasse and her husband, Andrew, Syvil Rott, Michael Campbell and Matt Weidner and his wife, Ava; and 12 great- grandchildren.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stephen Merle Campbell; and three sisters, Pearl Fennick, Mabel Porter and Betty Lynn.

CAMPBELL — Visitation for F. Merle Campbell Jr. of Harrisville, who passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Harrisville.
