MARS — The second Mars New Year celebration will be from 4:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

GREENSBURG — Local country/southern rock band Coal Town will release its self-titled debut album with a party at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Pines, 598 Tree’s Mills Road.

Tracks include “Mystery Man,” “W9” and “She Holds the Light.”

The song “Dirt Track Anthem” is featured in a documentary trailer about Lernerville Speedway.

Band members include Jessi Boldy of Sarver on acoustic guitar and vocals.

[naviga:h3]Motorcycle exhibit slated[/naviga:h3]

PITTSBURGH — The interactive exhibit “Hands-On Harley-Davidson” rolls into the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh on May 20, as part of a national tour.

Visitors can explore a kid-sized engineering lab and motorcycle dealership, and use science, technology, engineering and math concepts to dream up a bike design, build a prototype, and take it for a test drive. The exhibit will continue through Sept. 10.

[naviga:h3]Freeport sets summer season[/naviga:h3]

ALLEGHENY TWP, Westmoreland County — Freeport Theatre Festival will celebrate its 28th summer season with two plays.

Shows take place at 7 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

“Fallen Angels,” a comedy directed by Marushka Steele, will run from July 14 to 30.

And “Barefoot in the Park,” a romantic comedy directed by Jim Knapick, will run Aug. 11 to 27.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for senior citizens and military personnel, and $10 for students.

The theater is on the Steele Farm, 2498 White Cloud Road, two miles south of Freeport off Route 356. Call 724-295-1934.
