Alexandria S. “Lee” Gregory

Alexandria S. “Lee” Gregory, 97, of Butler passed away peacefully Sunday surrounded by loved ones at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born June 26, 1919, in Braznell, Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Draga Kresovich Sokolovich.

Lee was a member of St. Andrew Orthodox Church, Lyndora, and also of the Sisterhood of the Altar.

She was last employed as a nutrition educator by the Penn State Cooperative Extension of Butler County, where she especially enjoyed working with 4-H clubs and helping to compile a series of Extension Homemakers Cookbooks.

A graduate of Butler County Community College, Lee was a lifetime member of the BC3 Alumni Association. She was a strong advocate for education, for BC3 in particular, and an enthusiastic patron of community theater, especially the Butler Little Theatre. She also supported Butler Meals on Wheels and various food banks.

Her interests included cooking, gardening, traveling and volunteering at her church and in the community. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends who she treasured.

She is survived by one son, Richard T. Gregory Jr. of Atlanta; two daughters, Danita E. Gregory of Glenshaw, and Alexandria (Lexie) Jones and her husband, Ronald, of Butler; three grandchildren, Ronald A. Jones and his wife, Laura, of Butler, Adam G. Jones and his wife, Ashley, of Mars and Alexandria (Andria) Gusmar and her husband, Randy, of Pittsburgh; and four great-grandchildren, Alexandria Jones, Jacob Jones, Anna Jones and Allison Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 61 years Richard T. Gregory Sr. and two sisters.

GREGORY — Friends of Alexandria S. “Lee” Gregory, who died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Orthodox Church, 201 Penn Ave., Lyndora, with the Rev. Joseph Wargo, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made to Butler Meals on Wheels, 218 E.
