Conrad J. Geibel Sr.
Conrad J. Geibel Sr., 79, of Butler died Tuesday evening at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Born Sept. 4, 1938, in Butler, he was a son of the late Paul J. Geibel and Alberta Neigh Geibel.
Conrad was a retired postmaster then had worked part-time for the Butler School District.
He was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed building houses, farming and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Thelda Fend Geibel, whom he married June 6, 1959; three daughters, Brenda (Phillip) Shaffer of Karns City, Darlene (Paul) Stewart of Butler, and Jennifer Geibel of Pittsburgh; three sons, Conrad “Jake” (Kristine) Geibel Jr. of Virginia, Steven (Margie) Geibel of Fenelton, and Randall (Tammy) Geibel of Plum; 18 grandchildren, Tiffany (Brian) Yoder, Travis Shaffer, Taylor (Anthony Miller) Shaffer, Trevor Shaffer, Conrad (Elizabeth) Geibel III, Hollyn (Brian Krystek) Geibel, Katelyn Geibel, Stephanie (Greg) Zavacky, Jessica (Jason) Carr, Crystal (Nick) Osche, Dustin (Jesse) Geibel, Dalton (Micki McDonald) Geibel, Dillin Geibel, Nicole Geibel, R.J. Geibel, Aiden Quirk, Thomas Quirk and Mikey Quirk; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lois (Ralph) Morrison, Gladys Steighner and Mary Lee (Leo) Rosenbauer, all of Butler; and a sister-in-law, Helen Geibel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
GEIBEL — Friends of Conrad J. Geibel Sr., who died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, will be received from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville.
