Pedestrian dies after being hit on Main Street in Chicora overnight
CHICORA — A pedestrian fatality that occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on South Main Street in Chicora resulted in the temporary closure of Route 68.
The victim was declared dead on arrival, according to Chief Cody Craig, of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the accident. In addition to PSP and Chicora VFD, Karns City Regional Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
Chicora Road was closed at the intersection of South Main Street and Medical Center Road and at the intersection of Chicora and Medical Center roads until about 7:30 a.m. while the scene was cleared, Craig said.
Further details will be released once state police complete their investigation.
