Dallas G. Silvis Jr.
Dallas G. Silvis Jr., of North Buffalo Township passed away Tuesday at his residence.
Dallas was born Dec. 16, 1946, in Natrona Heights, and was a son of Dallas G. Silvis Sr. of Cabot and the late Sarah C. (Faith) Silvis.
He graduated with an associate degree in drafting and design from Penn State University.
He worked for Harbison-Walker Refractories and Penn United Technologies.
Dallas owned and operated Rugged Country Equipment in North Buffalo Township and worked for a number of years with Gaiser Construction.
Dallas was a long-time member of New Life Center in Ford City, and later helped build New Hope Assembly of God in NuMine.
Dallas earned his licensed ministry certification through Global University and served New Hope Assembly as the men's ministry leader, prayer team leader and Sectional Men's Ministry representative. In addition, he served as the treasurer of the Rural Valley Ministerium.
He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding animals and cutting firewood. He was an accomplished woodworker, his most notable piece being the “Memorial to the Unborn,” which is displayed in the window of New Life Center in Ford City.
Dallas is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice C. (Gray) Silvis; his daughter, Virginia Kemerer, and her husband, Ronald, of Avonmore; his son, Matthew Silvis, and his wife, Amy, of North Buffalo Township; and three grandchildren, Eliana, Isaac and Abigail Kemerer.
Dallas is also survived by his two sisters, Marjorie Kloker and her husband, Nelson, of Butler and Kathy Wilson and her husband, Robert, of Chicora; and his brother, Jeffrey Silvis and his wife, Bernice, of Saxonburg.
SILVIS — The memorial celebration for Dallas G.
