Troop D makes 52 DUI-related arrests during weekend initiative
Butler's State Police Troop D led a weekend of focused policing to target drivers under the influence of alcohol and other substances throughout Butler and Armstrong counties.
The initiative, which ran Sept. 7 to 8, was also held in cooperation The Bureau of Patrol, The Bureau of Liquor Control, and Municipal Police agencies to address DUI-related crashes and deaths.
Of the 370 arrests made by authorities, 52 were DUI-related, while hundreds of traffic citations and warnings were also handed out.
Additionally, police seized thousands of dollars from two drivers in Beaver County, according to police. The two drivers were both stopped for allegedly driving under the influence of marijuana.
An Asset Forfeiture unit with state police will check the money for drug particulate matter, according to police. If the results yield enough drugs, the money will be subject to being confiscated.
