Barry V. Wigton
Barry V. Wigton, 76, of Saunderstown, R.I. and Rotonda West, Fla., passed away unexpectedly Feb. 26 at Englewood Community Hospital in Englewood, Fla.
He was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Boyers, and was the son of the late Earl V. and Mary Hell (Bell) Wigton.
He graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1959 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a master sergeant in 1979.
After more than 30years in facilities management, industrial sales of electrical equipment, energy and mechanical systems, he retired from Multi-State Electric as their business development manager and continued on as a consultant. Barry was a past president of the Association for Facilities Engineering, R.I. Chapter.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing music with his family. Known affectionately to his family as “the Amazing Barry,” he could seemingly fix anything. He was strongly dedicated to the well-being of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Marion L. (Beaudin); three loving children, Theresa Young of Rhode Island, Michele Wigton and her fiancé, Scott Andrews, of Rhode Island, and Todd Wigton of Pennsylvania; and five cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Harriett (Gerald) Grossman of Pennsylvania; his brother, Kevin Wigton of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
