Karns City graduate and Butler County Community College sophomore Mackenzie Craig has excelled on both the volleyball and basketball courts for the Pioneers. This photo, submitted by the South Butler School District, is of Kade Hilterman, a Knoch High School junior, and Jacob Archer, a Knoch senior. They and four other students formed a team to compete in the CyberPatriot program, in which students from across the US find security risks in simulated computer systems. The Knoch team, which was coached by computer science teacher Laura Gaston, passed the first two rounds and will compete in state competition in January.
Mrs. Claus, who many say strongly resembles Butler Township resident Sharon Schneider, with members of Girl Scout Troop 26494 of Butler. They are holding stockings donated by the public to be given to cancer patients at various treatment facilities in Butler, Mercer and Lawrence counties.Submitted photo
More than 400 patches were collected from the Seneca Valley community by students in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Club. The students in the club presented three handmade quilts on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at the Rodef Shalom Congregation for the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh as a show of their support after the shooting that killed 11 people in October.Submitted photo
