Harold 'Herk' Confer

Harold A. "Herk" Confer, Jr., 56, of Zelienople, formerly of California, died Thursday at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born Nov. 14, 1948, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Harold A. Confer Sr. and Marian Mayer Confer.

Mr. Confer was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his father of Zelienople; two sons, Erik Confer of Arizona and Herky Confer of New York City; a brother, Denis J. Confer and his wife, Cindy, of Suffolk, Va.; a sister, Darla J. Hembree and her husband, Michael, of Zelienople, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

CONFER — Friends of Harold A. "Herk" Confer, Jr., who died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday atBOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople where a blessing service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William J. Ritzert, pastor of St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, Evans City, officiating.
