A motorcyclist hit a deer while riding on Chicora Road Tuesday evening.

DONEGAL TWP — A man in his 50s suffered non-life-threatening injuries when the motorcycle he was driving struck and killed a deer on Chicora Road in Donegal Township shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

State police said the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling west in the 1100 block when it hit the deer head-on.

The operator, who was not immediately identified, suffered scrapes from sliding on the road after the bike fell. The man was transported to Butler Hospital by Chicora Ambulance Service, police said.

The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
