4-year-old taken to hospital after near-drowning in creek
A 4-year-old boy is in a Pittsburgh hospital after nearly drowning Monday evening in Connoquenessing Creek in Butler, authorities said.
Butler police, who did not release the boy's name, said the child was apparently playing in the water with his siblings in a swimming hole near Kaufman Drive around 7:20 p.m. when he got swept under by the current.
Officers along with the city fire department and Butler Ambulance Service responded. The boy was out of the water but unresponsive when emergency crews arrived. An unknown adult was performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
