Victims' father addresses his children's molester

A Butler man faced his children's molester in court Thursday and said he forgave him for his actions.

“One day, maybe not any time soon, I hope we could sit together and talk about what happened,” the father told Paul R. Miller, 65, of Butler, who pleaded guilty in February to three counts of corruption of minors for molesting children.

Judge William Shaffer sentenced Miller to nine to 18 months in jail, with immediate parole, followed by nine years of probation. Miller must also register as a Tier I sex offender for 15 years.

Before Shaffer sentenced Miller, the father of the victims told the court how he felt when he found out that Miller had molested his children.

“What (Miller) has done to my children has brought many things to question for me,” the father said, pointing out that Miller was once the person he trusted most. “My life is a blur.”

Miller declined to make a statement in response.
