Clearview cinemas has new owner

CENTER TWP — The Clearview Mall Cinemas is under new ownership.

Waterworks Theaters in Pittsburgh recently bought the cinema, which reopened Friday after being closed for two days because of the change in ownership.

John Harper, a representative of Waterworks Theaters, said he doesn’t expect many changes to the four-screen theater.

“We’d like to keep all the same employees and keep prices the same,” Harper said, adding that the name of the theater would not change either.

Harper said they chose the Clearview Mall location because his company has a close relationship with J.J. Gumberg Co., the owner of the mall.

“We’re happy to be there,” Harper said. “We hope people come see some movies and have a good time.”

Waterworks Theaters has eight other locations throughout Western Pennsylvania, Ohio and Maryland, including Cranberry Cinemas in the Cranberry Mall.
