Doctor from Butler County charged with workplace sex crime in Armstrong County
A doctor who lives in Butler County and works in Armstrong County has been accused of inappropriately touching patients.
State Police in Kittanning on Friday acknowledged they are filing charges against Dr. Matthew Sabo, 48, of Chicora.
According to court documents, Sabo was taken into custody and arraigned Friday before District Judge J. Gary Decomo. He is charged with felonies sexual extortion and misdemeanors indecent assault, two counts each.
Sabo was taken to Armstrong County Jail, where he remains in lieu of $15,000 bond as of Friday.
Police said the charges stem from events that happened since 2017 at the Foot and Ankle Wellness Center of Western Pennsylvania in Ford City.
Police said at least one patient has claimed that during routine visits, Sabo touched the victim inappropriately.
Phillip Dilucente is listed as Sabo's attorney on court documents. A phone call Sunday was not immediately returned.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 8 before District Judge Decomo.
